Considering your emotional loss

| May 24, 2019 | Wrongful Death |

There are few things worse than having your trust betrayed. At Harvey and Foote Law Firm, we understand that there could be a number of conflicting and confusing emotions involved in serious injury cases involving seniors. Anger, guilt, remorse, sadness: These words do little to describe the feeling of loss that occurs when your loved ones suffer an injury while under a supposedly responsible party’s care.

Especially in the case of extreme consequences from nursing home negligence, such as wrongful death, there may often be another feeling that complicates matters. You may feel disillusionment when nobody is willing to step up and take responsibility for the loss you have suffered. This is where we are able to help many of our clients.

When we take on a nursing home or assisted living facility case that involves the loss of a loved one due to medical mistakes, drug overdoses or anesthesia errors, we understand that there is more at stake than compensation for loss of life. There is also often a feeling of responsibility, even for those who understand on an intellectual level that negligent actions of a nursing home staff or the glaring omissions of a medical team led to the tragedy.

While there is little we can do to alleviate this type of suffering and mental anguish, we believe that our compassionate approach goes a long way towards helping people understand a complex legal process during some of the most trying times of their lives. Listening to our clients’ stories also often helps us use our knowledge and resources to present the most persuasive argument possible, securing the best possible settlement or trial result.
