Botched breast implants cause permanent damages in New Mexico?

Quite a number of women decide to enhance their looks in various ways. One of the primary body modifications New Mexico women choose to enhance are their breasts. However, a woman who decided to take that plunge ended up in a coma after the procedure. Could botched breast augmentation lead to permanent damages?

A woman visited a cosmetic center for breast augmentation after being offered a lower rate of just $2,100. Shortly after the procedure, the woman reportedly went into a coma for the next few months. She has since came out of the coma, but she is still unable to care for herself. She also goes through crying spells and experiences periods of depression. The family was informed by a physician that she suffered from brain damage.

The family plans on pursuing a medical malpractice claim against Coral Gables Cosmetic Center. Currently, the young woman is unable to walk and lost the ability to care for her child. The family further claims that she is unable to take a bath or feed herself on her own and requires around-the-clock care. However, a representative for the clinic claims the woman withheld information from the doctor which led to her injuries.

No one expects to suffer injuries from having breasts augmentation. Most New Mexico residents expect surgeons to administer care that is safe for patients. In this case, the woman likely has permanent damages that will affect her for the rest of her life. Patients who suffered serious injuries under the care of a physician may have the right to file medical malpractice claims against the doctor and/or medical center in an effort to recoup damages.
