Dusti Harvey

Partner

Dusti Harvey is an experienced businesswoman, a skilled negotiator, and a tenacious litigator. She knows that the law is a powerful tool in obtaining compensation for her clients, as well as exposing institutional wrongdoing. Through the practice of law, Dusti is able to hold corporations accountable and change negligent corporate practices to make our community safer and obtain maximum recovery for her clients. Dusti’s clients become family to her. She gives 100% to each one of her cases. She works to make a difference in the lives of her clients, as well as the lives of others through systemic changes to prevent the same type of harm from happening again.

After graduating from law school, Dusti Harvey went to work for a large law firm defending nursing homes, doctors, and large corporations. She then went to Sun Healthcare Group, a national nursing home chain, as in-house corporate counsel. At Sun Healthcare, she directed all aspects of litigation, overseeing hundreds of cases nationwide, for more than six years. She was also in charge of the alternative dispute resolution program and traveled the United States mediating over 1,500 nursing home abuse cases.

Loving her grandmother very much, Dusti was able to care for her for the last several years of her life. The last two weeks of her grandmother’s life were spent in a nursing home, and the experience of witnessing firsthand the effect of corporate greed on residents and employees thrust Dusti to start her own law firm. Dusti can put herself in the shoes of the people who were wronged and battle with the corporation until justice is done.

Dusti started the law firm in March 2005, representing individuals throughout New Mexico who have been seriously injured or killed due to the wrongdoing of another individual or corporation. She is devoted to advocating for the well-being of elderly individuals, and those that experience injury, neglect, or medical malpractice.

She has received the highest possible rating from her peers and from the judiciary based on both legal ability and ethical standards since 2007. She has also been named Top 10 Nursing Home Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers. Ms. Harvey is on the board of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the Nursing Home Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. Dusti was a Past President of the Nursing Home Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. She is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association, and the National Citizens’ Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. Ms. Harvey has also been rated as a SuperLawyer since 2017.

Dusti frequently gives lectures to other lawyers on how to effectively pursue lawsuits, try cases, maximize the client’s recovery, and nursing home abuse. She now devotes a significant portion of her practice to advocating for the well-being of elderly individuals residing in nursing homes. With her deep compassion and proven legal skills, Dusti is the attorney you want by your side.

When she isn’t fighting for justice or giving back to the community through charitable and professional organizations, Dusti enjoys spending active time with her two teenage sons, traveling, being outdoors, skiing, and playing tennis.
